Because the parental controls on DISH Anywhere are separate from the controls on your receiver, they must be set up directly through DISH Anywhere to take effect. The settings and the passcode can be different from what is set on your receiver.
Use the flows below to set up and customize your DISH Anywhere parental controls.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Activate Parental Controls.
Enter a 4-digit passcode and select Save Passcode.
Select Choose your Security Question.
Re-enter your 4-digit passcode.
Select the dropdown menu to choose your security question.
Type your answer in the box and select Save.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Activate Parental Controls.
Enter a 4-digit passcode and select Save Passcode.
Select Choose your Security Question.
Re-enter your 4-digit passcode.
Select the dropdown menu to choose your security question.
Type your answer in the box and select Save.
Visit dishanywhere.com and log in with your mydish.com username and password.
Hover over the settings menu and select Manage Profiles.
Select Activate Parental Controls.
Use the arrows to choose your desired 4-digit passcode and select Activate.
Select the dropdown menu to choose your security question.
Type the answer to your security question in the box and select Save.
Follow the steps for your DISH Anywhere mobile app.
Note: Enabling parental controls through the app does not refresh the parental controls page until the video player is opened and then closed. After that you can proceed.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Change Passcode.
Enter your current 4-digit passcode.
If you forgot your passcode, select Forgot Passcode to be prompted to enter your security question instead.
Enter your new 4-digit passcode and select Save Passcode.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Change Passcode.
Enter your current 4-digit passcode.

Enter your new 4-digit passcode and select Save Passcode.
Visit dishanywhere.com and log in with your mydish.com username and password.
Hover over the settings menu and select Manage Profiles.

Select the Settings icon.
Scroll down to Parental Controls.
Scroll over to and select Change Passcode.
Enter your current Passcode and select Apply.
Enter new Passcode and select Apply.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Enable Parental Controls.
Enter your current 4-digit passcode.
Select TV Ratings and Movie Ratings to open the dropdowns and select your desired age preferences.
The radio button will turn green to indicate the parental controls are enabled.
To disable parental controls, deselect all rating preferences.
Open your DISH Anywhere app and make sure you're logged in before following the steps below.
Select More.
Select Profile.
Select Enable Parental Controls.
Enter your current 4-digit passcode.
Select TV Ratings and Movie Ratings to open the dropdowns and select your desired age preferences.
The radio button will turn green to indicate the parental controls are enabled.

Select Change Parental Controls.

Select your desired age preferences and select Save.
To disable parental controls, deselect all rating preferences.
Select the Settings icon.
Scroll down to Parental Controls.
Use the right and left arrows to select the desired maturity level you wish to place parental settings on for TV Ratings.
Use the right and left arrows to select the desired maturity level you wish to place parental settings on for Movie Ratings.
Select Save Changes.
Enter your Passcode and select Apply.
