General

The plan begins on Day 1 with access to technical support, including $49 installation services for eligible covered products. Device protection coverage begins on Day 31 of enrollment. Any preexisting conditions or breakdowns that occur before Day 31 are not covered. There is a 30-day waiting period to file a claim.

No, OnTech Smart Home Protect™ is not available with DISH Protect® Gold or Platinum, but it is available with DISH Protect® Silver, now known as DISH Protect®.

 

Save $5 on your bill if you are subscribed to both.

Yes, OnTech Smart Home Protect™ is available for most DISH customers even if you don’t have DISH Protect®. It’s not available to DISH customers who live in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, or parts of Alaska, or who only have a commercial or DISH Outdoors account.

The discount of $5 is automatically applied to your bill if you have both DISH Protect® and OnTech Smart Home Protect™.

You may cancel your plan anytime (with a full refund if canceled within the first 30 days.) If you cancel after 30 days of coverage, you will receive a prorated refund of the unearned portion of the monthly fee you paid. See terms and conditions for complete details.

DISH Protect® provides enhanced support and protection for your DISH service, including free technician visits. OnTech Smart Home Protect™ provides coverage and support for all of your home tech products like TVs, laptops, tablets and many other devices. Save $5 on your bill if you are subscribed to both.

Device Protection

Eligible products are covered for:

 

  • Breakdowns (mechanical or electrical failures) caused by defects in materials and workmanship
  • Device malfunctions due to normal wear and tear
  • Dust, heat or humidity
  • Power surge

 

Select portable devices are also covered for breakdowns due to unintentional and Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) as a result of normal use, like drops, spills and cracked screens. ADH is only available for laptops, tablets, portable DVD/Blu-ray players, gaming systems, wearables, audio headsets, virtual reality headsets and printer display screens.

No, OnTech Smart Home Protect™ does not provide coverage for your DISH equipment. It provides coverage and support for all your home tech products. To receive enhanced support and protection for your DISH service visit my.dish.com/dish-protect.

All eligible existing and new products in your household are covered. However, the maximum amount we will pay for all claims made in any twelve (12) month rolling period is $5,000. See terms and conditions for complete details.

Any eligible devices that you currently own or purchase in the future will be covered under your plan until it’s canceled. The plan will continue monthly until then.

Yes, there is a 30-day waiting period to file a device protection claim. You can start a claim anytime after day 31 of coverage. Any preexisting conditions or breakdowns that occur before day 31 are not covered. You have access to technical support starting day 1, including $49 installation services for eligible covered products.
