DVR issues on DISH Anywhere

If you have a Hopper 3 or Hopper with Sling device, content you record to your DVR is available to watch on DISH Anywhere. If you’re having problems setting up a recording or viewing your recorded content with DISH Anywhere, there’s a few things you can try:

  1. First, make sure you have access to DISH Anywhere
  2. Check that both your Hopper and the device you’re watching on are connected to the internet

  3. Restart the DISH Anywhere app
    • Close the app completely so that it isn’t running in the background. Relaunch the app or refresh the web page.
  4. Sign out and back in
    • Select your profile icon at the top right of the screen, then select Sign Out
    • Sign back in using your DISH Anywhere username and password (this is the same as your mydish.com credentials).
  5. Reset your receiver
    • Unplug the power cord of the primary receiver from the electrical outlet for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
    • Allow up to 10 minutes for the device to reset.

If you’re troubleshooting away from home, learn how to reset your receiver remotely.
  6. Restart the device you’re watching on

  7. Turn on the TV connected to your receiver
  8. Update your DISH Anywhere app
    • Search your app store for DISH Anywhere and download any available updates.
  9. Update your Hopper software
    • Press the Home button 3 times then scroll down to Tools.
    • Select the option to Upgrade Software, then select Upgrade Now.

Note: If you’ve recently made changes to your account, it may take up to 24 hours for new channels to appear in DISH Anywhere.
